Case Studies
Case study (Ongoing) - Solar Farm (PV) - West Midlands
We were introduced to this Landowner through one of our contacts who primarily deals with residential opportunities. Our task was to explore the potential of generating a greater income for the Landowner than their current use of conventional animal grazing.
The Solution: Following several discussions with our renewable energy developer, a prompt land appraisal was conducted, leading to the identification of a favorable opportunity to achieve a scheme on the land. This was attributed to the high demand for renewable energy solutions in the region. According to the developer, the area requires approximately 50MW of energy, which would generate a significant income for our landowner, should planning be granted.
The Result: Assuming that planning permission is granted, the Landowner will have secured a sustainable source of income for the agreed lease length provided by the renewable energy developer. Even though the project is currently in progress, we are pleased to have offered a viable solution that satisfies the project's objectives.
Case study (Ongoing) - Battery Storage - South East
The Landowner contacted us to seek advice on a challenge they were facing. They were having trouble selling a piece of land for residential purposes due to its unsuitable location. They were interested in our opinion on how to optimise the value of the land.
The Solution: Upon conducting preliminary due diligence, it became apparent that there was a high demand for the implementation of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on the land. Subsequently, during discussions with our developer, who actively seeks such opportunities, they expressed keen interest in the prospect. It was determined that a 100MW energy storage capacity could be attained, resulting in an annual income of circa £1500 per MW for the landowner.
The Result: The Landowner expressed interest in selling the land, along with the scheme that had been secured, and we offered to assist in finding a potential buyer. Currently, negotiations are underway. The landowner is pleased with the prospect of selling the land, as it now holds a greater value due to the potential significant income, compared to its previous potential use for grazing or farming.
